Rafael Nadal's knee injury continues to interfere with his tennis career. The injury caused him to withdraw from carrying the Spanish flag at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Also, he was forced to pull out of the 2012 Rogers Cup and the 2012 Western & Southern Open. And unfortunately for Nadal fans everywhere, he has announced that he won't be ready to play in the 2012 US Open. A recent message on his Twitter account confirms the withdrawal, reading “I am very sad to announce that I am not ready to play the US Open in NY. Thanks to my fans for their support and especially, the New Yorkers.” The 11 time Grand Slam winner is hopeful to be back on the court as soon as he feels his condition is adequate enough to compete again. The US Open will be held August 27 through September 9, 2012. View tickets for the 2012 US Open here.
