Born on July 8th 1961, Toby Keith is a country music artist from America. Born in Clinton, Oklahoma, Toby during early days of his career was associated with Mercury Records and released his first four albums with them. All four albums received either a gold certification or higher. In 1990 his first song on the album Should’ve Been a Cowboy was the biggest hit of that year. The song topped every country music chart and sold almost three million copies. In 1998, Keith signed a deal with DreamWorks Nashville and released his first album with them titled How Do You Like Me Now. Title song How Do You Like Me Now on the new album was an instant hit and was one of the most successful songs of the year 2000. Along with DreamWorks Nashville, he released three more albums named My Chain, Unleashed and Shock’n Y’all. All three albums received multi-platinum certification by the RIAA. In 2005, Keith started his own music company called Show Dog Nashville after the closure of DreamWorks. Under his own music company Keith released two more albums called White Trash With Money and Big Dog Daddy in 2006 and 2007.

Until now, Keith has released more than 12 albums, 10 are the studio compilations, 2 are Christmas albums, and the rest are multiple compilation albums. Toby became fascinated with music while playing in Fort Smith Boys Club football team. His interactions with musicians who came to play became the reason for his love towards music. Keith started playing guitar at the age of eight. In 1979, he graduated from the Moore High School.

During his early music days, Keith along with his bandmates recorded his songs and distributed them at various music company offices in Nashville. When Mercury records heard the tape they signed a deal with Keith and recorded the first four albums of his career. Keith also was featured in one of the Beach Boys albums in the year 1996.

Keith also made appearances on the small screen too. He was made the brand ambassador of Ford and appeared in various Ford commercials. He also appeared at Total Non Stop Action wrestling on few occasions. He gave a guest appearance on The Colbert Report which aired on Comedy Central. Toby has acted in two films so far. He acted in Paramount Pictures' Broken Bridge released in 2005 along with Kelly Preston, Burt Reynolds and Tees Harper. In 2008, his second film was released. The movie was called Beer For My Horse and was based on a song by Willie Nelson.

Keith has won an American Music Award four times. He has won in the category of Favorite Country Album and Favorite Country Male Artist. He has been declared Country Artist of the Decade by Billboard. He has won seven Academy of Country Music Awards, and a Country Music Association Award as Best Male Vocalist in 2001.
